Principals Corner:
Welcome to a new school year! If you are new to our school, regardless of
grade, please remember that we are not too large to get to know you and help
when needed!
Communications with homes are important and not everyone can access the "Talkmails"
sent by telephone. Many of these are also included on this website for thos
who are not Bell Aliant customers.
Any new year brings change and new challenges, and 2009-2010 is no
exception. Our revised daily schedule will be most noticed by our high
school with an earlier start in the day (8:15) , a shortened lunch break,
and an earlier dismissal time (2:40). With these adjustments we are also
beginning the year with an 'on-campus' policy for Grade 9 students,
promoting an adequate transition period for our newest high school pupils,
especially within the theme of off-campus concerns and supervision during a
school day.
At our Blast-Off event in September, parents will learn more about
our numerous activities here at JMA/SMS and will also this year see a
special opportunity for parents of high school students to gain needed
information about grade specific items of interest to parents in a secondary
school environment.
We welcome Mrs. Kenny, Vice Principal to our school replacing Mrs.
Constantine who is on an educational leave for the year.
With concerns over the H1N1 flu situation please keep informed and discuss
precautions with each other. Various reliable sources of information are
shared online and at school through discussion and notices as required.
Best Wishes for a great year! Thanks for visiting our web site.
Mr. Robinson
