- English and at least four other subjects must be taken at the "12"
level.
- Successful English Language Proficiency Assessment is required.
Students must achieve an "Appropriate Performance" Level or higher to
receive a NB High School Diploma.
All
students in NB write the English Language Assessment in Grade 9. Students who score
unsuccessful in Grade 9 have the opportunity to rewrite in their Grade 10
year. Candidates who are unsuccessful in Grade 10 will continue to be
provided with support and the opportunity for a diploma by re-writing the
English Language Proficiency in Grade 11 and if necessary, again in Grade
12.
